ConnectiCare Holding Company, Inc., based in Farmington, Connecticut, is a leading provider of managed care services to approximately 265,000 members primarily in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. The Company offers the complete spectrum of products to its members including gatekeeper and open access models with point-of-service ("POS") options. ConnectiCare has developed a strongly defensible market niche as the preferred managed care option for both the people of Connecticut and local healthcare providers. Liberty and another leading private equity group purchased all of the outstanding common shares of ConnectiCare in June 2001. The Company was sold to a major health maintenance organization in 2004.
