Allscripts Healthcare Solutions Inc., based in Vernon Hills, Illinois, is a provider of clinical software, connectivity, and information solutions for physicians in the United States. Liberty Partners invested in Allscripts Inc. to finance the development and implementation of a point-of-prescription medical management solution for physicians and their patients. With Liberty's support, the Company made significant investments in people, systems and technology and now operates in three segments: Software and Related Services, Information Services, and Prepackaged Medications. The Software and Related Services segment consists of TouchWorks, TouchScript, and Impact.MD, that provide electronic health records management, e-prescribing, and electronic document imaging and scanning solutions. The Information Services segment offers various products, including software that links physicians with pharmaceutical companies and medical product suppliers, as well as software used to educate patients about their condition. The Prepackaged Medications segment provides point-of-care medication management and medical supply solutions for physicians and other healthcare providers.
