NetMotion Wireless, Inc., based in Seattle, Washington, is the combination of its two predecessor companies, Padcom, Inc. and NetMotion Wireless. Padcom was founded in 1989 with the goal of giving mobile workers easy-to-use and secure continuous wireless data connectivity. NetMotion Wireless was the developer of Mobility, a software-only mobile computing solution that provided reliable, secure connectivity for enterprise wireless solutions. Together, the combined company has the market-leading Mobile VPN product—Mobility XE—along with a strong team of engineers, an experienced and proven management team, a substantial portfolio of validated intellectual property, and a large customer base. Liberty was the sole investor in the initial round of financing for PADCOM in January 1995.
